Monster Hunter Online allows player to improve the mastery of each weapon by upgrading passive skills for each weapons, through the "Weapon Talent System". The weapon talent for all weapons are shown on the 4th tab of "H" (weapon) interface.

To learn the weapon talent (passive skill), you will need the corresponding "Weapon Mastery Coin". These Weapon Coins can be obtained from completing "Star Quest".

1 Star Quest: available from Lv 19 - gives level 1 Mastery Coin
2 Star Quest: availabe from Lv 24-  gives level 1 Mastery Coin
3 Star Quest: availabe from Lv 29 - gives level 2 Mastery Coin
4 Star Quest: available from Lv 34- gives level 2 Mastery Coin
And so on.

Level 1 Mastery Coin - Required to learn 1st Row of Weapon Talent
Level 2 Mastery Coin - Required to learn 2nd Row of Weapon Talent
And so on. Of course, you will need to hit a certain level before learning these talents.

To unlock the 2nd row of weapon talent, you will need to learn all the talents in the 1st row.

Sometimes, you will get Mastery Coins which do not correspond to the weapon which you are using. Fortunately, these coins are tradable and can be put into Aunction House for sale as well.

You can only complete up to a total of 3 Star quests per day. Each quest can only be done once per day.

After learning the weapon talent, you will need to equip it for it to take effect in hunting. The number of slots available depends on your Hunter Rank. You can unlock 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th talent slots when you reach Hunter Rank 2, 3, 4, 5 respectively.

Nice work Chaose5, I'll be sure to keep an eye on this post. I was always wondering about those badges you socket into your weapons.

I myself, kind of just guessed as to what they are, and most of my guesses were bang on. Not too difficult to determine what the skill is based on the icon. But this will definitely help me in the future.

I look forward to seeing you finish this guide. Keep up the good work.

(I've mainly just been using google translate on my Smartphone haha. Works like a charm sometimes...)

I can get the Rank 2 and 3 sets for Great Sword for ya to go over. Eventually I'll have Hammer too (haven't had much luck getting Hammer coins lately).

Do note that i am not a veteran monster hunter player =.=

If any of the translations sound weird or inappropriate (esp the name of the skills), do let me know and tell me what should it be..

I was tempted to translate the names of these weapon passives as well, but i think it will sound very cheesy.. so i will leave it as RxCx =.=

I'm kinda curious what the names would be, actually.
